What is Intercessors for
Melbourne?
 | IFM was formed in 1993 by The Rev Denis
Plant, to gather a "Prayer Network" in Melbourne for support,
encouragement and prayer for the City. Denis was the director and the
visionary for IFM till his retirement in 2001. Denis provided teaching and spiritual
encouragement to all involved with IFM through seminars and meetings.

| In 1999 the name was extended to IFM and
Associated Cities so as to include other areas of Victoria.
|
| IFM is an inter-church network of those
people called to pray for our city, for the renewal of the church and the salvation of the
unsaved, (Is 62:6, Lk 10:2)
|
| We believe God is raising up Intercessors to
prepare the way for the Lord's ministry in this city. (Lk 10:1)

Our goals are:-
| Forming a wider network
|
| Developing relationships, unity and vision
|
| Teaching and training
|
| Facilitating the formation of local prayer
groups in each municipality
|
| Developing relationships of IFM Prayer
Groups and Local Pastor's prayer groups.

| Upholding the church of every denomination
|
| Praying for renewal of the church
|
| Praying in the harvest for the Kingdom
|
| Hearing from the Lord together and praying
prophetically
|
| To encourage the development of intercessory
groups in other cities and areas of Victoria
